Weaving Together The Written Word
A core part of The Ancestral Now sits in crafting a variety of different forms of the written word. Like the spider that weaves it web, I have a deep love for weaving artistic pieces of writing together; working with the ‘the modern alphabet’ to produce educational, transformative and inspiring books, long form essays and articles.
Sonic Adventure’s
The mixing of music and written word started in youth, and as a teenager I was ‘rapper’, with valid potential prospects for advancing in that arena. Fate would have it another way. Out of a lifelong love of poetic verbal expression amplified by musicality, Stories by The Fire was born to share the written the word that flows through the Ancestral Now in a potent way. When listened to with intent, they are transformative transmissions in their own right.
Stories by The Fire is more than a podcast…it offers a ‘sonic body’ to different pieces of writing that flow through The Ancestral Now.
This creates a ‘sonic adventure’, connecting music, sound effects, quotes, timing, and rhythm to bring the words to life in a way only the sonic element can.

This Podcast is an exploration of what it means to become a ‘Living Ancestor’: A fully embodied, 21st century human being connected to our deep time hunter-gatherer inheritance. Themes include: shamanism, spiritual cultivation, ancestral healing, embodiment, divination, animism, creative expression, and surfing with fate & destiny.

Primordial Shamanism is the ‘flagship’ methodology expressed through The Ancestral Now. It is an expression of contemporary Western shamanism (in that it is ‘non-traditional), and is contextualized through the spirit of the indigenous wisdom traditions we have inherited from the Deep Time Ancestors.
It has emerged today, from within our culture, to address the challenges and opportunities of our time; from accessible tools meant to help reconcile mundane concerns, to deep ecstatic states of communion with the divine.
It presents of a vast treasury of tools, embodied skills and recontextualizations around modern shamanic practice that are critical to the reawakening of authentic shamanism in contemporary 21st century life.

The Archetypal Ancestors Oracle deck serves both as a form of divination and transmitter of Ancestral wisdom in a manner that goes to the bone of the human experience. The deck is inspired by the underlying geometry and structure of the I Ching. Archetypal Ancestors are forces that shape the somatic drives and living orientation of the homo-sapiens as a ‘Spiritual Ape’.
